L’anàlisi se situa dins el marc de les llengües romàniques i es pren com a base per avaluar algunes de les propostes formulades sobre la reconstrucció dels demostratius en basc. En el treball es presta una especial atenció al canvi cíclic dels sistemes de dixi espacial i, més concretament, a la tendència a convertir els sistemes ternaris en binaris i aquests, de nou, en ternaris.This paper deals with the main changes that have occurred in the demonstrative system of Catalan and Spanish. The analysis is situated in the framework of the Romance languages and is used as a starting point to develop insights into the reconstruction of the demonstratives in Basque.
