I propose that the [+F] feature is an optional formal feature that can be assigned
to multiple tokens of the numeration. Hence, the focus structure is derived via Merge
(creation of a set) in a strictly compositional way. I argue that with the adoption of this
theory we can circumvent many of the empirical and theoretical shortcomings of previous
Nuclear Stress Rule-based approaches, and, furthermore, that it allows us to account for
split focus constructions (answers to multiple Wh questions) in a natural way.</dc:description><dc:identifier>https://artxiker.ccsd.cnrs.fr/artxibo-00108178</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://artxiker.ccsd.cnrs.fr/artxibo-00108178v1/file/DAFS.pdf</dc:identifier><dc:relation>vignette : https://www.bilketa.eus/in/rest/Thumb/image?id=ark:/27020/Artxiker-00108178&mat=articleNum</dc:relation>
<dc:rights>Archive ouverte HAL | HAL artxibo irekia</dc:rights><dc:subject>focus</dc:subject><dc:subject>nuclear stress</dc:subject><dc:subject>derivation</dc:subject><dc:subject>bare phrase structure</dc:subject><dc:subject>Morfosintaxia</dc:subject><dc:subject>Morphosyntaxe</dc:subject><dc:title>A Derivational Approach to the Focus Structure</dc:title></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
